| The Truth About... |
Immigration.... Immigration
is
now the hottest political topic in the United States.
Millions of illegal aliens have invaded our country, with estimates
being as high as 20 million. All of them are criminals, because
they broke our laws by illegally entering the U.S. Some of
them are even violent criminals, with backgrounds ranging from drug
smuggling to murder to terrorism. Almost a quarter of the Federal
prison population is made up of illegal aliens such as these.
What causes these people to illegally cross our borders? A big factor is that they can find jobs here that pay a lot more than they do in their home land, like Mexico or other Central American countries. Employers like these workers because they will work for less than legal American citizens and don't complain much because of their illegal status. They also come here because they can get a lot of benefits like public education, health care, and welfare which are all paid for by the American taxpayer. Democrats want to legalize these criminals because they want a new under-class of welfare recipients to vote for them. Some Republican business owners want these criminals legalized so they can have a large low-paid workforce to take advantage of. Both parties are guilty of looking out for their own power and greed at the expense of the illegal aliens, whom they would like to keep impoverished and dependant on them for social benefits and low-paying jobs. This is contrary to the tradition of American immigration, which allowed people to access the great American Dream by getting educated, working hard, and becoming part of the American culture. These legal immigrants came to America to enjoy the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness that can only be found in America. Millions of these legal immigrants are now successful business owners and professionals. The latest effort to legalize the criminal aliens was a slap in the face to all Americans who have followed the legal route to citizenship. Thankfully, real Americans, not politicians, stopped that law from being passed in what was truly a "bipartisan" effort. |
